Shannon Kahler

Inspiration Hills Camp Director

Shannon Kahler serves as Director at Inspiration Hills, the district camp located in Burbank. Her prior experience includes serving as Food Services/Marketing Manager at Camp Alexander Mack in Milford, Indiana, Head Chef/Assistant Food Services Manager at the Michindoh Conference Center in Hillsdale, Michigan, and District Retail Operations Manager for the Great Harvest Bread Company in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She also owned and operated a food service management company in Farmington, Michigan called Campus Cuisine which offered a variety of services to schools, ministries, and non-profit organizations.

Shannon holds a Business Administration/Marketing degree from William Tyndale College, a Culinary Management/Culinary Arts degree from Schoolcraft College, and an Elementary Education/Biblical Literature degree from Fort Wayne Bible College. She is a member of the Church of the Brethren Outdoor Ministries Association, Christian Camp and Conference Association, and the American Camp Association.

Serving in youth ministries and Christian camping have been a large part of Shannon’s adult life and her children’s lives. Her children have numerous stories and memories of the summers they spent as campers while she served as the volunteer cook, lifeguard, and counselor/director. “My life in Christ is not something that I do, it is who I am,” Shannon writes. “I pray that my faith is evident in the things that I do and say, and that it speaks louder than my words to those who I come in contact with every day.”

She is married to Allen Kahler, Ordained Minister in the Northern Ohio District.
